Plans and credits

Settings → Billing: what a credit is (a booked meeting or a request that fits; visitors who aren't a fit are free), Free, Growth, Agency and Enterprise compared, credit add-ons, rollover, annual billing, extra credits, and the legacy Origin, Adapt, Evolve and Apex plans.

Darwin charges in credits. Conversations are unlimited on every plan and never use a credit by themselves.

What a credit is

A credit is one result from your chat: a meeting booked on your calendar, or a request that passes your fit rules. Nothing else uses a credit, so a visitor who isn't a fit is free. One conversation never uses more than 1 credit.

What uses a credit

What happens in the chatCredits
A visitor books a meeting and your calendar confirms it1
A visitor sends one of your outcome forms and passes its fit rules1
A visitor sends a form but doesn't pass its fit rules0
A visitor answers Book a meeting's questions, then doesn't book0
The same email again within 30 days0
A chat with no meeting or request, or a chat in the Agent Studio preview0

Four more rules:

  • One credit per conversation at most. A visitor who books a meeting and sends a form that fits in the same chat uses 1 credit, not 2.
  • Repeats are free for 30 days. A meeting or request from an email that already used a credit in the last 30 days costs nothing, across meetings and every form.
  • Requests wait three days. A request that fits counts three days after it's sent. Until then, Not a real request in Conversations takes one off your bill. See How requests use credits.
  • Meetings count when your calendar confirms them. Darwin doesn't wait for the meeting to happen, and a booking your calendar reports twice counts once.

Every plan includes unlimited chats, the API, MCP, the chat API, integrations and experiments. The API allows 600 requests a minute (30 heavy) per key, and pages are re-read every week.

More credits each month come as an add-on, which also lowers the price of each extra credit. See How credit add-ons work. For more than the menus offer, see Enterprise.

The Powered by Darwin badge shows on the chat on every plan.

Prices are in US dollars, before tax. Every plan also includes Agent Studio and Conversion Studio with outcome forms and personal links.

  1. Compare plans on the Billing screen

Open Billing and scroll to Plans. Each card shows the plan's price and what it includes. Your plan is tagged Current plan.

  2. See annual prices

Switch Monthly to Annual, marked 2 months free. Growth is $2,990 a year and Agency $7,990.

  3. Choose your credits

On Growth and Agency, the menu under the price sets your credits each month, such as 35 credits: 10, 35, 60 or 110 on Growth, and 25, 50, 75, 125, 275 or 525 on Agency. The card's price and its Extra credits $25 each line change with your choice. Growth with 35 credits, for example, is $799 a month with Extra credits $20 each. The last choice, More credits? Talk to us, turns the card's button into Book a demo. The pricing page at meetdarwin.ai/pricing has the same menu, and your choice carries into sign-up.

  4. Pick a plan

Select Upgrade to Growth or Choose Agency. A window shows the credits you chose and what's due today before anything is charged. See Change your plan. For Enterprise, select Book a demo.

How credit add-ons work

An add-on puts more credits into Growth or Agency every month and lowers the price of each credit beyond them.

Add-onMonthlyAnnualEach credit beyond your allowancePlans
+25 credits$500$5,000$20Growth, Agency
+50 credits$800$8,000$16Growth, Agency
+100 credits$1,200$12,000$12Growth, Agency
+250 credits$2,500$25,000$10Agency
+500 credits$4,000$40,000$8Agency

Growth with +25 credits has 35 credits a month for $799, and each one after that is $20. Choosing 35 credits in the Growth card's menu is the same thing. Once you're on the plan, add, change or remove an add-on with Change add-on in Billing. See Add or change a credit add-on.

How credits are spent each month

Darwin spends credits in this order:

  1. Credits rolled over from last month.
  2. This month's credits from your plan and add-on.
  3. Free credits Darwin added, for example from a referral or a promotion.
  4. Extra credits, at your current price for each credit beyond your allowance.

Rollover. Unused credits from your plan and add-on carry into the next month, up to one month's worth. They last that one month and are spent first, then expire. Credits that rolled over once don't roll again. On Growth, using 6 of 10 credits in October gives you 14 in November: 4 rolled over, then your 10.

Extra credits. On Growth and Agency the chat never stops when the month's credits are used. Each credit beyond them is charged automatically on your monthly invoice at your current price: $25, or your add-on's lower price. The workspace owner gets an email at 80% and 100% of the month's credits, and when the first extra credit is charged.

Saving on credits. When a bigger add-on would have cost less for last month, Billing says so under Save on credits. On a monthly plan you can let Darwin move you up automatically. See Save on credits.

Annual billing

Annual billing is ten months' price for twelve on the plan and any add-on, paid upfront: two months free. Credits still arrive every month, and unused ones roll over the same way. Extra credits are charged each month at the normal price, without the annual discount.

An add-on you take mid-year is charged at its annual price for the months left, so the plan and the add-on renew on the same date.

Free

  • Free starts without a card. The first workspace you own gets 5 free credits, once. They don't reset each month.
  • When the last free credit is used, Darwin pauses on your website until you add a card in Billing. Your agent, conversations and settings stay as they are, and adding a card switches the chat straight back on. After that, each credit is $30, billed monthly.
  • Each form can have one qualifying question, a question with a fit rule. Adding a second shows Ask more than one qualifying question on Growth, with an Upgrade button. Book a meeting's questions count as one form. See Build an outcome.

When a month's credits on Free cost as much as Growth, Home suggests Growth.

Agency

Agency is for agencies that run Darwin for their clients. Every client workspace has its own agent, knowledge, team and conversations, and all of them draw on one pool of credits: the plan's 25 a month, your add-on and any rollover. Extra credits are charged on the agency's monthly invoice. Agency holds up to 200 client workspaces, and adds the +250 and +500 add-ons and a per-client report. See Run client workspaces on Agency.

Enterprise

Enterprise is for teams that need more credits than Growth or Agency offer. Its credits and price are set with you. To start, select Book a demo on the Enterprise card in Plans or on meetdarwin.ai/pricing. On Growth or Agency, More credits? Talk to us at the end of the credits menu does the same: it turns the card's button into Book a demo.

What every plan needs to go live

Darwin goes live once visitors have somewhere to go: a connected calendar or booking link, or a live outcome form such as Request a quote. Book a meeting's questions on their own don't count. While Darwin is live, it won't let you remove the last one. Add another calendar or form first, or switch Darwin off. See Go live.

Growth annual, a month with 12 credits$2,990 once a year, plus 2 × $25 = $50 that month

Legacy plans

Workspaces that subscribed to Adapt, Evolve or Apex, or added a card on Origin, keep their plan and its terms until the owner changes plan.

PlanMonthly feeIncluded each monthEach one after thatAPI requests a minute (heavy)Pages re-read
Origin$0First 5, once$20120 (10)Every month
Adapt$995$15120 (10)Every two weeks
Evolve$29920$10600 (30)Every week
Apex$69960$51,200 (60)Every day

Legacy plans keep their chat API allowance: Origin none, Adapt 500, Evolve 2,500 and Apex 10,000 sessions a month.

On a legacy plan:

  • Billing shows each booked meeting or request that fits as one credit, and qualifying questions are unlimited.
  • Included bookings don't roll over, and annual billing is 20% off the monthly fee.
  • Moving to Free, Growth or Agency is one-way: a legacy plan can't be chosen again, and the change window says so. Moving to Growth or Agency starts straight away.

A workspace on Origin that never added a card is now on Free and kept its unused free bookings as free credits.

Good to know

  • A canceled meeting or a no-show isn't given back automatically. If a charge looks wrong, ask for a review with the workspace, the conversation and the booking time.
  • Free credits from a referral or promotion are whole credits, used after your plan's credits and before any extra credit is charged.
  • Credits belong to the workspace that pays: your own, or the agency's pool for a client workspace.
