Overview
Publish Darwin as a Custom HTML tag in Google Tag Manager and decide, with triggers, exactly where the chat appears. Your site stays as designed; the chat answers questions, offers meetings and tests its openings.
What you get
- Keep the site you built. Add the Darwin embed to your existing pages. No page redesign is needed.
- Make the chat your own. Style the launcher and conversation to match your brand in Darwin.
- Give visits a next step. Connect Calendly or RevenueHero in Darwin to turn interested conversations into meetings.
How it works
- 01Prepare your assistant. Let Darwin learn your website, then review its answers, openings, and appearance.
- 02Add the embed once. Paste your workspace snippet into a Custom HTML tag, attach the triggers for the pages you want, and publish the container.
- 03Check the live experience. Allow your website domain in Darwin and test the published site, including a mobile view.
Before you start
- Access to a web container and permission to publish tags. Use the triggers and consent rules appropriate for your site.
- A Darwin workspace with the correct website hostname allowed.
- A configured booking provider if you want visitors to schedule meetings.
Questions
Is this a native app or plugin?
Neither. It's Darwin's standard website embed delivered through a Custom HTML tag in your container. There's no separate marketplace app to install.
Will it match my website?
Yes. Darwin’s appearance settings control the chat’s colors, typography, avatar, and corners. Review the styling before publishing.
How do I check the installation?
Publish the container, then open your website and try the chat. Because the tag injects the script after the page loads, it won't appear in the initial HTML check; the live conversation is the real test.
