vs

More meetings. Less managing.

LiveChat is built around people answering chats. Campaigns start the conversation and Copilot helps agents reply faster, but a person is still doing the talking. Darwin flips that: the AI does the answering and the booking, and it keeps rewriting its own openings to book more. Here's how they compare.

THE SIDE-BY-SIDE

The difference,
at a glance.

LiveChat makes sense when you have agents at the keyboard and want the best tooling for them. Darwin makes sense when nobody is at the keyboard and the chat still has to book meetings. The tables below cover the automation, the setup and the bill.

THE DARWIN DIFFERENCE

Your chat works on getting better.

Darwin keeps trying new openings on the pages you allow it to, and it keeps the ones that get visitors talking and booking. You don't run the tests. You just show up to the meetings.

Who is each product for?

Start with the job you need your chat to do.

Turn website visits into sales meetings.

Good fit for

  • Sales teams booking demos from website traffic.
  • Growth teams trying to get more out of every chat.
  • Small teams who'd rather not build the setup themselves.

Less suited to

  • Teams whose chat is answered mostly by people.

Equip a human chat team with campaigns, reports and agent-assist AI.

Good fit for

  • Support teams with agents online during business hours.
  • Teams that want queue, ticket and agent reporting.
  • Businesses that already use other Text products.

Less suited to

  • Teams that want openings tested and improved without manual work.
  • Teams that want meeting booking inside the chat, not a link out.
A LITTLE MORE DETAIL

Before you
make the move.

Can LiveChat book meetings?

Only by linking out. The welcome screen can carry custom links, including one to your scheduling page, but the booking happens on that other page. Darwin offers a time in the conversation and completes the booking in the scheduler you've connected. With both, check what your provider records as a finished booking.

812
Does LiveChat have an AI that answers visitors?

Inside LiveChat itself, the AI helps your agents. Copilot reads your website and PDFs and suggests replies while a person handles the chat. Text sells a separate AI Agent that talks to visitors directly. Darwin's assistant answers visitors from your website content and the knowledge you give it, no agent required.

413
Does LiveChat A/B test its greetings?

Not automatically. LiveChat's advice is to set up several campaigns for the same conditions and try one type each month, then read the conversion report. Darwin writes opening variants for each page, tests them, keeps the better one and starts the next test.

12
How do the prices compare?

LiveChat has no free plan; Starter is $25 per agent per month on monthly billing, and the AI Agent from Text is priced separately. Darwin's Origin plan has no monthly fee. Five bookings are included, and after that you pay for each meeting that gets booked.

LiveChat prices are per agent on monthly billing; its customer-facing AI Agent is a separate Text product priced per user. Setup means preparing a draft, not automatically installing it.
