Overview
When a visitor leaves their name and email in Darwin’s chat, Zapier adds a row to the Google Sheet you choose, with the page they chatted on and a link to the conversation. It runs through Zapier: Darwin’s Zapier app starts the Zap and Zapier’s Google Sheets app adds the row. It’s a two-step Zap, which Zapier’s free plan includes.
What you get
- Every lead, in one sheet. A visitor who leaves their email becomes a new row, so the whole team can see the list.
- Context in every row. The page they chatted on, their traffic source and a link to the conversation fill the columns you map.
- Free to start. It’s a two-step Zap, so it runs on Zapier’s free plan and any Google account.
How it works
- 01Connect Darwin to Zapier. Add Darwin to your Zapier account and create a key for it in Darwin.
- 02Pick the trigger. Choose Darwin’s New Lead trigger in a new Zap.
- 03Add Google Sheets. Choose Google Sheets’ Create Spreadsheet Row action, pick the sheet, map the columns and turn the Zap on.
Before you start
- A Google account and a sheet with a header row for the columns you want.
- A Zapier account with Darwin added. Darwin is in private beta on Zapier; the setup guide has the invite link.
- Owner or admin access in Darwin, to create an API key for Zapier.
Questions
Is this a native Google Sheets integration?
No. It runs through Zapier. Darwin’s Zapier app starts the Zap when a visitor leaves their details, and Zapier’s Google Sheets app adds the row. You choose which fields go in which columns.
Does it copy leads Darwin already has?
No. A Zap acts on events from the moment you turn it on. To bring in earlier leads, download them as a CSV from Conversations in Darwin, or read them with the API.
