# Darwin + Pipedrive

New leads from your chat become people in Pipedrive, ready for a lead or a deal.

When a visitor leaves their name and email in Darwin's chat, Zapier adds them to Pipedrive as a person, with the page they chatted on and a link to the conversation. It runs through Zapier: Darwin's Zapier app starts the Zap and Zapier's Pipedrive app does the work. This recipe is a two-step Zap, which Zapier's free plan includes.

## What you can do

- **Every lead, in Pipedrive.** A visitor who leaves their details becomes a person in Pipedrive within seconds.
- **Into the pipeline.** Add a lead in the Leads Inbox or a deal in your pipeline as a further step.
- **Free to start.** Adding the person is a two-step Zap, which Zapier's free plan includes.

## How they work together

1. **Connect Darwin to Zapier.** Add Darwin to your Zapier account and create a key for it in Darwin.
2. **Pick the trigger.** Choose Darwin's New Lead trigger in a new Zap.
3. **Add Pipedrive.** Choose Pipedrive's Create Person action, map the fields and turn the Zap on.

## Before you connect

- A Pipedrive account on any plan, including the free trial. API access must be on for the connecting user, which it is unless an admin turned it off.
- A Zapier account with Darwin added. Darwin is in private beta on Zapier; the setup guide has the invite link.
- Owner or admin access in Darwin, to create an API key for Zapier.

## Questions

**Is this a native Pipedrive integration?**

No. It runs through Zapier. Darwin's Zapier app starts the Zap when something happens in your chat, and Zapier's Pipedrive app does the work in Pipedrive. You choose which fields go where, and you can add filters or extra steps.

**Does it copy contacts Darwin already has?**

No. A Zap acts on events from the moment you turn it on. To bring in earlier leads, download them as a CSV from Conversations in Darwin, or read them with the API.
