# Darwin + Google Meet

Book through Darwin and the invitation carries a Google Meet link by default, from Google Calendar or from a Calendly meeting type set to Meet.

There is nothing extra to connect. Google Meet comes with your Google Calendar connection: leave the video call in your booking rules on Google Meet and every event Darwin creates gets a Meet link from Google, sent to the visitor in the invitation. Book with Calendly instead and a meeting type with a Google Meet location does the same job. Prefer Zoom? Connect it and switch the video call.

## What you can do

- **Already there.** Connect Google Calendar and Meet links are on by default. No second account, no second sign-in.
- **Sent by Google.** The invitation comes from your own Google account, the way any calendar invite does, with the Meet link already inside.
- **Easy to change.** Switch the video call to Zoom or to none in your booking rules whenever you like. Existing events keep their links.

## How they work together

1. **Connect Google Calendar.** Sign in with the Google account that hosts your meetings and approve what Google asks for. That is the only setup there is.
2. **Keep Google Meet as the video call.** It is the default in your booking rules. Save the rules and you are done.
3. **Book in chat.** A visitor confirms a time. Google creates the Meet link as it creates the event, so the link is in the invitation before you have seen it.

## Before you connect

- A Google Calendar connection in Darwin, or a Calendly meeting type with a Google Meet location.
- A Google account that can create Meet links. Google Workspace and personal Google accounts both can.
- Owner or admin access to the Darwin workspace.

## Questions

**Do I need to connect Google Meet separately?**

No. There is nothing to connect for Meet on its own. When Darwin creates the event in Google Calendar it asks Google for a Meet link, and Google puts it in the invitation.

**Can I use Google Meet with Calendly?**

Yes. Give the Calendly meeting type a single Google Meet location. Calendly then adds the link itself, through your own Calendly to Google connection, and Darwin shows the confirmed booking.

**Does the visitor need a Google account?**

No. The link in the invitation opens Google Meet in a browser. Whether guests without a Google account are let straight in is set by your Google account's Meet settings, not by Darwin.
