# How Darwin works

Four steps from a website visit to a booked meeting: learn, book, experiment, improve.

## 1. Learn

Share your URL. Darwin imports key pages into a knowledge base and drafts business details and brand styling.

## 2. Book

The assistant answers visitor questions and offers a meeting in your scheduler (Calendly or RevenueHero) inside the chat. A booking counts only when the provider confirms it.

## 3. Experiment

Each page gets its own opening line. Darwin writes a challenger and splits visitors between it and the current opening.

## 4. Improve

When the numbers hold up, the winner becomes the default and the next test starts from it. Automation settings let your team approve tests and promotions manually.

## Questions

**Does Darwin replace our scheduling tool?**

It doesn't have to. Connect Calendly or RevenueHero and that tool keeps handling availability, hosts and invitations while visitors book inside the chat. If you only use Google Calendar, you set hours, meeting length, buffer and notice in Darwin and don't need a separate scheduling tool.

**What exactly improves?**

The opening message that invites a visitor into chat. Busy pages get their own test and quieter pages share one with similar pages; the winner becomes the new starting point. These experiments don't rewrite your website, change your prices or retrain the AI model.

**Does my team have to run the experiments?**

Not if you don't want to. With Automatic testing on, Darwin starts tests, replaces openings that fall behind and applies winners on its own. Want to approve winners first? Turn off Apply winners for me in Experiments settings, and each winner waits for you to apply it.

**Can I update what Darwin knows?**

Yes, any time. Website pages, documents and business context live in Agent Studio's Knowledge tab. You can open what was imported, see exactly what the assistant is working from, and change it.

**How does an AI chatbot book meetings from a website?**

It answers the question first. Once someone shows real interest, Darwin offers a meeting and opens your own scheduler, Calendly or RevenueHero, right there in the conversation. The visitor picks a time, it lands on your rep's calendar, and Darwin only counts it as a meeting once the provider confirms.

**How long does it take to set up Darwin?**

Usually under five minutes. Paste your website URL, let Darwin draft a knowledge base and styling from it, connect your calendar, run a couple of test chats, then add one script tag to the site.

**Does Darwin replace my sales team?**

No. Darwin takes the first conversation and the handoff. It answers product and pricing questions, offers a meeting when interest is real, and books time with a human. Your team still runs that meeting and closes.
