# Connect HubSpot

Send every lead from Darwin's chat to HubSpot through Zapier: Darwin's New Lead trigger and HubSpot's Create or Update Contact action, with each field to map.

This is the Markdown version of https://www.meetdarwin.ai/help/crm-and-automation/hubspot, published by Darwin and generated on 23 October 2026.

Find it in Darwin: Integrations → CRM & automation → Zapier (https://app.meetdarwin.ai/admin/settings/integrations/zapier). Updated Oct 13, 2026.

Send every lead from Darwin's chat to HubSpot as a contact, so your team can follow up from HubSpot. This runs through Zapier: Darwin's Zapier app starts the Zap and HubSpot's Zapier app does the work.

**You need:** A Zapier account (the free plan works for this two-step Zap) and HubSpot Super Admin permission for the person connecting HubSpot. Any HubSpot plan works.

1. **Add Darwin to Zapier**

In Darwin, open **Integrations** and select **Connect** on the **Zapier** card. Select **Add Darwin to Zapier** (1) while signed in to Zapier and accept the invite. Darwin is in private beta on Zapier, so the invite adds it to your account.

2. **Create a key for Zapier**

Select **Create key** (2). In **Integrations → API**, name the key **Zapier**, select **Choose** and tick the scopes Darwin lists, then select **Create key** and copy it. Darwin shows it only once.

3. **Start the Zap with Darwin's New Lead trigger**

In Zapier, create a Zap. Choose **Darwin** as the app and **New Lead** as the trigger event. Connect your Darwin account by pasting the key, then select **Test trigger** to load a sample with the visitor's name and email when they leave them.

4. **Add HubSpot's Create or Update Contact action**

Add an action step. Choose **HubSpot** as the app and **Create or Update Contact** as the action event, then connect your HubSpot account.

5. **Map the fields**

Map **Email** → Email, **First name** → First Name, **Last name** → Last Name, **Company name** → Company and **Phone number** → Phone. Put **Darwin url** in a contact property so reps can open the chat from the record.

6. **Test and publish**

Select **Test step** and check the result in HubSpot. Then select **Publish**. Back in Darwin, **Build a Zap** lists the Zap with its event; **Open Zapier** manages it.

## Good to know

- A second Zap on **Meeting Booked** can update the same contact when the visitor books.
- HubSpot matches on email, so a returning visitor updates their existing contact instead of creating a new one.
- Zaps act on new events from the moment you publish. Earlier leads are in **Conversations**, which you can export as a CSV.
- Chats in Agent Studio's preview never start a Zap. Test with a real chat on your website, or with the sample from **Test trigger**.
