# Tidio Pricing in 2026: Plans, Lyro AI Costs and What You Actually Pay

What Tidio costs in 2026: every plan, Lyro and Flows quotas, add-ons, two worked monthly bills, and cheaper options.

## TL;DR

- Tidio charges for three things separately: conversations your team answers, conversations its Lyro AI agent answers, and visitors its Flows reach. The plan price covers only the first.
- Starter costs $29/mo on monthly billing and Growth starts at $59/mo. Plus starts at $300/mo plus usage, and Premium is quoted.
- In our worked examples, a small store with Lyro and Flows pays $97 a month and a six-person support team pays $438 before removing the Tidio badge, on monthly billing.
- Before you pay, check two things: the automatic upgrade that fires near the top of a quota, and what happens to your inbox at the conversation limit.

Tidio pricing in 2026 starts free: the Free plan suits a small site whose team answers a few dozen chats a month, and Starter, Tidio's cheapest paid plan, costs $29/mo on monthly billing. The real bill depends on two quotas the plan does not include: Lyro, Tidio's AI agent, and Flows, its rule-based automations. In our worked examples below, a small online store using both pays $97 a month and a six-person support team on Growth pays $438. Larger teams move to Plus or Premium, which are sold through Tidio's sales team. Tidio is built for customer support. If the job is booking sales meetings from your website chat, Darwin is the best fit, because it books the meeting inside the chat, tests and improves its own opening lines, and charges per booked meeting instead of per conversation.

This guide goes through each Tidio plan, the three meters Tidio bills on, the add-ons, monthly versus annual billing, two worked monthly bills, the costs that are easy to miss and a step-by-step way to estimate your own bill. It ends with cheaper tools, tools that charge a different way, and where Darwin fits.

A disclosure: we make [Darwin](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/), AI website chat that books sales meetings and charges per booked meeting, so we are not neutral about chat pricing. Our chat is not a help desk and does not replace Tidio's inbox, so it gets its own section near the end, for readers whose chat exists to book sales meetings, rather than a place in every comparison. Every Tidio price below comes from Tidio's own pricing page and help center, read on 5 October 2026, and shows the date we checked it.

**Tidio pricing plans at a glance**
| Plan | Price | What it covers |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0/mo | Tidio's Free plan covers 50 billable conversations a month, 10 seats and Flows for 100 visitors a month. |
| Starter | $29/mo | Starter includes 100 billable conversations; Growth starts at 250. |
| Growth | From $59/mo | Tidio's Growth plan costs $59 a month for 250 billable conversations, $89 for 400, $129 for 600, $159 for 800, $179 for 1,000, $249 for 1,500 and $349 for 2,000, on monthly billing. |
| Plus | From $300/mo | Tidio's Plus plan starts at $300 per month, plus monthly usage for AI and human conversations. |
| Premium | Quote | Tidio's Premium plan is priced by quote; it starts from 3,000 Lyro conversations and can be billed per resolution. |

Prices are on monthly billing; hover over a price to see the source and the date we checked it. Lyro and Flows are bought on top of any of these plans, as the next sections explain. Tidio's own [pricing page](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) opens on annual prices, so its first figures are lower than the ones above.

## How Tidio pricing works: three separate meters

Tidio bills on three meters, and the plan you pick pays for only one of them. Each meter has its own quota, its own price list and its own limit, and a busy site can run into any of them first.

- **Conversations your team answers.** This is what the plan price buys. Tidio counts a billable conversation only when a person on your team replies to it or starts it; replies from Lyro or Flows do not count. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The monthly conversations limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/11874534946460-The-monthly-conversations-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- **Conversations Lyro answers.** Lyro, the AI agent, has a separate quota sold in monthly bundles. Lyro's quota starts at $39 per month for 50 conversations on monthly billing. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).
- **Visitors your Flows reach.** Flows are scripted automations, such as a welcome message or a discount pop-up, and they are counted by the people they reach, not by messages sent.

The definitions matter more than the prices. Unanswered spam costs nothing, and a long thread counts once. By Tidio's own definitions, though, a conversation that Lyro starts and a person then finishes uses both quotas: it has a Lyro reply and a human reply. If you plan for Lyro to take most of the questions, size the Lyro quota first and the plan second. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

Tidio chatbot pricing lives in the second and third meters. Beyond small free allowances, Lyro and Flows are not part of Starter or Growth, so a store that buys a plan for its team and then uses Lyro past its free 50 conversations has started a second bill. ## Tidio pricing plans: Free, Starter, Growth, Plus and Premium

**Free.** Tidio's Free plan covers 50 billable conversations a month, 10 seats and Flows for 100 visitors a month. It includes the inbox, ticketing and the Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp integrations, which is generous for a site that is just starting out. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The free version and downgrading your account](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5423925248412-The-free-version-and-downgrading-your-account) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Which upgrades do I need?](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/6266099959708-Which-upgrades-do-I-need) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

**Starter.** Starter includes 100 billable conversations; Growth starts at 250. Starter adds the live visitors list and operating hours. It does not unlock removing the Tidio badge. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [Which upgrades do I need?](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/6266099959708-Which-upgrades-do-I-need) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

**Growth.** Growth is one plan with a slider for volume. Tidio's Growth plan costs $59 a month for 250 billable conversations, $89 for 400, $129 for 600, $159 for 800, $179 for 1,000, $249 for 1,500 and $349 for 2,000, on monthly billing. On top of Starter it adds advanced analytics, permissions, automatic chat assignment, macros and native Shopify actions, and it is the first plan where you can buy the branding add-on. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Which upgrades do I need?](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/6266099959708-Which-upgrades-do-I-need) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

**Plus.** Tidio's Plus plan starts at $300 per month, plus monthly usage for AI and human conversations. It exists for teams that outgrow the fixed limits: custom quotas, as many seats as you need, a success manager and lower usage rates. Tidio does not publish those usage rates, so the only way to compare Plus is with a quote in hand. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

**Premium.** Tidio's Premium plan is priced by quote; it starts from 3,000 Lyro conversations and can be billed per resolution. Tidio runs Lyro for you as a managed service and works with your team to automate more than half of support conversations.

Channels do not change Tidio pricing. The Free plan already includes the Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp integrations, and messages from those channels, like email tickets, count against the same billable-conversation quota as live chat. A shop that adds Instagram replies is not buying a new product, but it is filling the plan's quota faster. Sources: [Which upgrades do I need?](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/6266099959708-Which-upgrades-do-I-need) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The monthly conversations limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/11874534946460-The-monthly-conversations-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

Tidio's Free, Starter and Growth plans each include 10 seats; Plus sets a custom number with no per-seat charge. That makes the step from Growth to Plus a jump rather than a slope: one agent more than the standard plans allow means a sales conversation, not one more seat. ## Tidio Lyro AI pricing: what the AI agent costs

Lyro learns from website URLs pasted as data sources. Lyro answers visitors from that content and hands off to a person when it cannot. Every Tidio project gets 50 Lyro conversations free, once; that quota does not renew. The free 50 are best read as a trial, not an allowance. Sources: [Lyro – a quick setup](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/15607494952604-Lyro-a-quick-setup) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The Lyro AI agent limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13924459295900-The-Lyro-AI-agent-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

Tidio sells Lyro quotas at $39 a month for 50 conversations, $75 for 100, $110 for 150, $140 for 200, $210 for 300, $350 for 500, $525 for 750 and $700 for 1,000, on monthly billing. That works out at about $0.78 per Lyro conversation on the smallest quota and $0.70 from 200 conversations upwards, so Tidio Lyro pricing barely falls with volume. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

Set that against the plan. On Growth, each conversation a person answers costs between about 17 and 24 cents of plan price, depending on the tier, so a Lyro conversation costs Tidio customers roughly three to four times as much in fees. That is not a reason to skip Lyro: the plan price does not include your team's time, which is what Lyro saves. It is a reason to give Lyro the questions that take a person longest, and to keep the quick ones with people or Flows.

Tidio counts a Lyro conversation each time Lyro replies in a new thread, and a thread closes after 15 minutes without a message. A shopper who asks about delivery, leaves for half an hour and comes back with a sizing question can therefore cost two Lyro conversations. Lyro can also be bought on its own and added to another help desk such as Zendesk, while you keep the free human-conversation limit. Sources: [The Lyro AI agent limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13924459295900-The-Lyro-AI-agent-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

[Figure: Bar charts of Tidio's price per conversation: Lyro AI costs $0.78 to $0.70 per conversation by quota size, while Growth costs $0.24 to $0.17 per human conversation] Price per conversation, worked out from Tidio's monthly prices (pricing page, read 5 October 2026).

## What Flows cost, and when you need them

Flows are Tidio's no-code automations: a greeting on a product page, a discount offer for someone about to leave, a form that collects an email address. They follow rules you set, rather than answering in their own words the way Lyro does. Tidio's Flows reach 100 visitors a month free; paid quotas cost $29 a month for 2,000 visitors, $39 for 3,000, $49 for 5,000, $69 for 10,000, $85 for 15,000, $99 for 20,000, $119 for 30,000, $139 for 40,000, $169 for 50,000, $239 for 75,000 and $299 for 100,000, on monthly billing. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The monthly flow limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5454293485596-The-monthly-flow-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

The free quota runs out faster than it sounds. A welcome flow that greets every new visitor uses one unit per visitor, so a store with a few thousand visitors a month uses up the free 100 within days, and after that the flows simply stop until the month resets. A flow that only fires when someone opens the chat counts only those people. Sources: [The monthly flow limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5454293485596-The-monthly-flow-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

If your flows exist mainly to collect leads, decide which pages really need a proactive message before you buy a bigger quota.

## Tidio chatbot pricing: Lyro or Flows, and when you need both

Tidio sells two kinds of automation, and they are priced on different units. Flows follow rules you set: they show the message you wrote, on the pages you chose, and are billed by the visitors they reach. Lyro answers in its own words from the content you gave it and is billed by the conversations it handles. Sources: [The monthly flow limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5454293485596-The-monthly-flow-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Lyro – a quick setup](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/15607494952604-Lyro-a-quick-setup) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

The unit prices are far apart. Tidio's smallest paid Flows quota works out at under 1.5 cents per visitor reached, while a Lyro conversation costs 70 to 78 cents. Tidio AI chatbot pricing, in practice, means Lyro's quota: it is the line on the bill that grows when the AI does more work.

- **Use Flows** for what is the same for every visitor: a welcome line, a first-order discount, a form that takes an email address before a person replies.
- **Use Lyro** for questions whose answer depends on the visitor: delivery times to their country, whether a size fits, how a return works for a sale item.
- **Use both** when a welcome flow brings people into the chat and their questions are too varied for a script. Budget for both quotas, because each grows with traffic in its own way.

Most small stores need Flows first and Lyro once the same questions start taking up a person's day. If neither describes your chat, because the visitors you care about are buyers asking for a sales call, skip to the section on paying per meeting near the end: neither Tidio quota is built for that.

## Add-ons, seats and branding

Tidio lists removing its branding as a Growth-plan add-on at $20 per month on monthly billing; Plus and Premium include it. On Free and Starter the Powered by Tidio badge stays on your widget, which matters more to a brand-conscious store than to a small service business. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 13 October 2026); [Which upgrades do I need?](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/6266099959708-Which-upgrades-do-I-need) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 13 October 2026).

Tidio's Free, Starter and Growth plans each include 10 seats; Plus sets a custom number with no per-seat charge. There is no per-seat price to add on the standard plans, which is good news for a team of six and a ceiling for a team of twelve.

You can put Tidio on several websites or stores from one account, but the widget then shares one set of colours, hours and offline messages across all of them; different behaviour per site needs a conversation with Tidio. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

## Monthly or annual billing

Tidio's annual billing gives two months free, about 17% less than paying month to month. The saving is real, but annual billing only pays off once you know which quotas you need, because Tidio's quotas are sized in steps and it is easy to buy the wrong one in the first month. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

A 7-day free trial covers paid features without a card. Changes to a subscription, up or down, take effect at the start of the next billing cycle, so you keep the features you paid for until then. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

One more difference: automatic upgrades, covered under hidden costs below, apply only to monthly plans. On annual billing you hit the limit instead.

## Tidio pricing in 2026: what to check on the official page

Tidio's own [pricing page](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) is the place to confirm a price, and it is easy to misread. Four things to know before you compare it with a review or with this guide: Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

- **It opens on annual billing.** The first prices you see are annual rates shown per month. Switch the toggle to monthly before comparing them with a monthly bill.
- **Growth is a slider.** The headline Growth price is the 250-conversation tier, and it rises as you drag the slider toward 2,000 conversations.
- **Lyro and Flows have their own sliders.** They are added to the plan you choose, not included in it.
- **Plus and Premium are sales-led.** Plus shows a starting price with usage on top, and Premium shows no price at all.

When you compare Tidio pricing with another tool, compare like with like: the same billing period, the same monthly volume and the same automation. A competitor whose headline price includes an AI agent should be set against Tidio's Starter plus a Lyro quota, not against Starter alone.

Older reviews sometimes quote Plus and Lyro figures that no longer match the page, so treat any third-party number, including ours, as a pointer and check the date. Every Tidio price in this guide shows the day we read it when you hover over it.

## What a month of Tidio costs: two worked examples

List prices per quota are hard to picture, so here are two businesses worked through on Tidio's monthly prices, before tax and discounts. The quotas are the smallest Tidio sells that cover each business's volume.

**A small online store.** Two people answer chat. About 80 conversations a month need a person, the owner wants Lyro to handle around 50 routine questions about delivery and returns, and a welcome flow on product pages reaches about 1,500 visitors.

**Example 1: a small online store on Tidio**
| Item | Quota | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Starter plan | 100 billable conversations, up to 10 seats | $29 |
| Lyro AI Agent | 50 Lyro conversations a month | $39 |
| Flows | 2,000 visitors reached a month | $29 |
| Total | Per month, before tax | $97 |

On annual billing the same setup costs about $80.83 a month. If the store limits its flows to visitors who open the chat and stays within the free 100 visitors, the monthly bill drops to $68. The Tidio badge stays on the widget either way, because Starter cannot remove it.

**A growing support team.** Six agents answer about 700 conversations a month, Lyro handles around 300 more, a set of flows reaches about 10,000 visitors, and the team wants the Tidio badge removed.

**Example 2: a six-person support team on Tidio**
| Item | Quota | Monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Growth plan | 800 billable conversations, up to 10 seats | $159 |
| Lyro AI Agent | 300 Lyro conversations a month | $210 |
| Flows | 10,000 visitors reached a month | $69 |
| Subtotal | Plan, Lyro and Flows | $438 |
| No Tidio branding | Growth add-on, on monthly billing | $20 |
| Total | Per month, before tax | $458 |

On annual billing the three quotas come to about $365 a month, plus the branding add-on. Tidio's Growth tiers jump from 800 conversations to 1,000, so a busy month near the top of the 800 tier is exactly when an automatic upgrade would move this team up a step.

Over a year the gap between billing periods adds up. On monthly billing the six-person team pays about $5,496 for twelve months, branding included. Paid annually, the plan, Lyro and Flows come to about $4,380 for the year, before the branding add-on, which is a saving of roughly $876 on those three quotas alone, as long as the quotas were sized right.

The prices behind both sums, with the date we checked each one:

- **Plans.** Starter is $29 per month on monthly billing. Tidio's Growth plan costs $59 a month for 250 billable conversations, $89 for 400, $129 for 600, $159 for 800, $179 for 1,000, $249 for 1,500 and $349 for 2,000, on monthly billing. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- **Lyro.** Tidio sells Lyro quotas at $39 a month for 50 conversations, $75 for 100, $110 for 150, $140 for 200, $210 for 300, $350 for 500, $525 for 750 and $700 for 1,000, on monthly billing. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- **Flows.** Tidio's Flows reach 100 visitors a month free; paid quotas cost $29 a month for 2,000 visitors, $39 for 3,000, $49 for 5,000, $69 for 10,000, $85 for 15,000, $99 for 20,000, $119 for 30,000, $139 for 40,000, $169 for 50,000, $239 for 75,000 and $299 for 100,000, on monthly billing. - **Branding.** Tidio lists removing its branding as a Growth-plan add-on at $20 per month on monthly billing; Plus and Premium include it.

What would push the second team off Growth: growing past 10 agents, passing 2,000 human conversations a month, or needing more than 1,000 Lyro conversations. At that point Plus applies, at $300/mo plus usage rates Tidio quotes privately. Sources: [Tidio pricing](https://www.tidio.com/pricing/) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

## Hidden costs in Tidio pricing: what to check before you pay

None of these are secret; they are in Tidio's help center. They are just not on the price tags.

- **Automatic upgrades.** Tidio moves a monthly subscription up to the next quota automatically once 95% of its conversations, Lyro or Flows quota is used, unless you switch that off. It is a sensible default for a growing store and an unwelcome surprise for one that had a single busy week. Decide which you are, and change the setting in the subscription screen if needed. - **The hard stop.** When a Tidio account reaches its monthly conversation limit, the team can no longer see or answer new messages until the quota resets or the plan is upgraded. That is the catch in the Tidio pricing free plan: a busy Friday can mean customers writing into an inbox nobody can open. Sources: [The monthly conversations limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/11874534946460-The-monthly-conversations-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [The free version and downgrading your account](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5423925248412-The-free-version-and-downgrading-your-account) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- **Lyro's thread rule.** Tidio counts a Lyro conversation each time Lyro replies in a new thread, and a thread closes after 15 minutes without a message. Returning shoppers can cost more Lyro conversations than you expected. Sources: [The Lyro AI agent limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13924459295900-The-Lyro-AI-agent-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- **Two quotas for one chat.** A conversation Lyro begins and a person finishes counts as a Lyro conversation and as a billable conversation.
- **Annual prices first.** The pricing page shows annual rates by default. Compare monthly with monthly, or annual with annual.
- **The badge.** Removing the Tidio branding needs Growth plus the add-on, or Plus.

Check the Usage and plan panel in Tidio during the trial week: it shows each quota filling up, which is the best way to choose the right sizes before you pay. Sources: [The monthly conversations limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/11874534946460-The-monthly-conversations-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

The 800-conversation plan is an example.

## How to estimate your Tidio bill, step by step

Tidio pricing is easiest to judge with your own numbers. The trial week is the best time to size the quotas, because the Usage and plan panel shows each one filling up, but you can get close before that with figures you already have. Sources: [The monthly conversations limit](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/11874534946460-The-monthly-conversations-limit) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

1. **Count last month's human conversations.** Include chats, emails and social messages your team answered, because Tidio bills them against one quota. Spam and threads nobody answered do not count.
2. **Decide what Lyro should take.** List the questions that repeat, such as delivery, returns and opening hours, and estimate how many arrive a month. A chat Lyro starts and a person finishes uses both quotas, so only subtract the ones Lyro can close alone from step 1.
3. **Count the visitors your flows would reach.** A welcome flow on every page reaches every new visitor; a flow on product pages reaches only theirs. Your analytics tool has both numbers.
4. **Size each quota for your busiest month.** Quotas come in steps, and on monthly billing the automatic upgrade moves you up a step at 95% anyway, so sizing for an average month saves little.
5. **Add branding removal if you need it.** Only Growth can buy the add-on; Plus and Premium include it, and on Free and Starter the badge stays.
6. **Choose the billing period last.** Start monthly, then switch to annual once two or three months of usage confirm the sizes.
7. **Decide on automatic upgrades.** Leave them on if a hard stop at the limit would cost you sales; switch them off if a surprise bill is the bigger worry.

Add the plan, the two quotas and any add-on, and you have the monthly bill. The two worked examples above follow exactly these steps. Sources: [Automatic upgrades](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/13590446473372-Automatic-upgrades) (Tidio; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

## Is Tidio worth the price?

**Best for:** Small businesses and online stores that want an affordable widget with an AI agent.
**Not for:** B2B sales teams that need the meeting booked inside the chat, not a link.

How it charges: Conversation-based; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: 7 day trial; books in the chat: Shares a Calendly link (facts checked 5 October 2026).

For a small store or service business, mostly yes. The free plan is usable, Starter is cheap, and paying separately for Lyro and Flows means you only buy the automation you use.

The value fades as volume grows. Three quotas climb with traffic at once, the per-conversation price of Lyro hardly falls with volume, and the fixed seat ceiling pushes a growing team to Plus, whose usage rates are not public. Lyro can share a [Calendly](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/integrations/calendly) scheduling link through a Book-a-call Action. For a B2B site that wants a booked sales meeting rather than a link, that matters more than the price. **Tidio pros**
- A free plan, and a free trial of the paid features
- Lyro trains on website URLs you provide
- Simple setup for non-technical teams

**Tidio cons**
- Meeting booking is a shared link, not a calendar inside the chat
- Priced by conversation volume, so costs climb with traffic
- Built for support and e-commerce, not B2B pipeline

**What Tidio users say**

**Users like**
- Tidio's Lyro AI agent takes routine, repetitive questions off small support teams. “The AI replies are well-suited and provide accurate responses to our customers.” Sources: [Tidio: AI Chatbot & Live Chat reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/tidio-chat/reviews?sort_by=newest) (Shopify App Store; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Tidio Reviews](https://www.softwareadvice.com/live-chat/tidio-chat-profile/reviews/) (Software Advice; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Tidio reviews](https://www.g2.com/products/tidio/reviews) (G2; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

**Users complain about**
- Tidio's AI replies can miss context, feel impersonal or get answers wrong, so specific questions still need a person. “AI-generated responses sometimes need a quick review to make sure they fit the context” Sources: [Tidio reviews](https://www.g2.com/products/tidio/reviews) (G2; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).
- Tidio's real bill often runs well above the entry price once Lyro, Flows and more conversations are added. “Lyro conversations are billed separately, so costs get unpredictable on higher-traffic sites.” Sources: [Tidio: AI Chatbot & Live Chat reviews](https://apps.shopify.com/tidio-chat/reviews?sort_by=newest) (Shopify App Store; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Tidio Reviews](https://www.softwareadvice.com/live-chat/tidio-chat-profile/reviews/) (Software Advice; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Tidio reviews](https://www.g2.com/products/tidio/reviews) (G2; first accessed 6 October 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

_Themes in our words from public user reviews read 6 October 2026._

**Verdict.** Tidio is good value for a small store or service business that answers its own chats and wants a modest AI agent on top. A growing team should price all three quotas together, and plan for Plus, before treating the Starter or Growth price as the budget. If the chat's job is booking sales meetings, Darwin is the better fit.

## Which Tidio plan should you choose?

- **A new store or a side business.** Stay on Free until the conversation limit starts to bite; then Starter. Use the free Lyro conversations as a trial before buying a quota.
- **A small store that wants an AI agent.** Starter plus the smallest Lyro quota, and only buy a Flows quota if a welcome flow is worth paying for.
- **A support team of three or more people, up to 10.** Growth, sized to your busiest month rather than your average one, with the Lyro quota sized from the trial week's usage.
- **More than 10 agents, or more than 2,000 conversations a month.** Plus. Ask for the usage rates in writing and model a busy month before signing.
- **You want Tidio to run the AI for you.** Premium, if your volume justifies a managed service and per-resolution billing.
- **Your chat exists to book sales meetings.** None of Tidio's plans is built for that job. Darwin, priced per booked meeting, is; see its section below.

Whichever Tidio plan you choose, start on monthly billing, watch the Usage and plan panel for a month, and switch to annual once the quotas are right.

## Cheaper alternatives to Tidio, and tools that charge differently

If Tidio pricing does not fit the way your site works, these are the tools whose pricing differs most. Each suits a different reader.

**tawk.to, if you want the lowest bill.** tawk.to's live chat is free, with unlimited agents. AI Assist, which answers chats from your website, documents and FAQs, starts at $29 per month; removing the Powered by tawk.to branding is $29 per month. A team that answers its own chats pays nothing at all, however many conversations it has. Sources: [tawk.to Pricing](https://www.tawk.to/pricing/) (tawk.to; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [tawk.to Live Chat](https://www.tawk.to/products/live-chat/) (tawk.to; first accessed 5 October 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [Why is tawk.to free?](https://www.tawk.to/why-free/) (tawk.to; first accessed 5 October 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [tawk.to Add-ons](https://www.tawk.to/add-ons/) (tawk.to; first accessed 5 October 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

**Crisp, if you want a fixed bill.** Crisp's Mini plan costs $45/mo per workspace, and its pricing does not grow with conversations. AI credits are included per plan: $5 on Mini, $25 on Essentials, $75 on Plus. Sources: [Crisp pricing](https://crisp.chat/en/pricing/) (Crisp; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

**Freshchat, for a support team that wants to start free.** Freshchat's Free plan has no monthly fee for up to 10 agents. Its paid Growth plan is $23/agent/mo, and the AI agent is metered separately. Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per 100 sessions after the free allowance. Sources: [Freshchat pricing](https://www.freshworks.com/live-chat-software/pricing/) (Freshworks; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

**Chatbase, if the AI agent is the main thing you are buying.** Chatbase sells message credits rather than conversations, starting at $40/mo, which suits a site where the bot answers and people rarely step in. Sources: [Chatbase Pricing](https://www.chatbase.co/pricing) (Chatbase; first accessed 16 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

**LiveChat, for a team that staffs the chat all day.** LiveChat's Starter plan is $25/agent/mo, with its AI agent sold separately. It usually costs more than Tidio for a small team, but its queues, routing and reporting are built for full-time agents. Sources: [LiveChat pricing (current LiveChat plans)](https://www.livechat.com/pricing-legacy/) (LiveChat; first accessed 13 October 2026, last confirmed 13 October 2026).

**Darwin, if the chat exists to book sales meetings.** It charges per booked meeting rather than per conversation and books inside the chat. It has no ticketing or shared inbox, so it is the wrong choice for support. The next section prices it against Tidio.

## Tidio pricing vs Darwin: paying per meeting instead of per chat

Everything above assumes your chat is a support channel. Many B2B sites, such as agencies, software companies and consultancies, run a chat for a different reason: to turn a visitor who is comparing options into a booked sales call. For that job, Darwin is the best fit, and Tidio pricing works against you, because Tidio bills each conversation your team or Lyro handles, whether or not it becomes a lead. Lyro can share a Calendly scheduling link through a Book-a-call Action. Tidio lists that Calendly template for Plus, Premium and selected Lyro subscribers, and the action gives the visitor a link to book on rather than a booking made inside the chat. Sources: [Lyro Action templates](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/23091021128732-Lyro-Action-templates) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [Lyro – a quick setup](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/15607494952604-Lyro-a-quick-setup) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

Darwin is AI website chat built for that one job. It answers the visitor's questions from your website, qualifies them, then offers meeting times and books the meeting inside the chat through Calendly, [Google Calendar](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/integrations/google-calendar) or [RevenueHero](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/integrations/revenuehero). Setup starts from your own site: it reads the site to draft the chat's knowledge, brand styling and opening lines, and you review the draft before anything goes live. Sources: [Connect your scheduling page](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/help/meetings/how-meetings-get-booked) (Darwin; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026); [Set up with Darwin](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/help/getting-started/set-up-with-darwin) (Darwin; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

The second reason is how Darwin gets better. It borrows the method of the naturalist it is named after: variation and selection, run as a fair test on your real visitors and repeated on autopilot. Darwin's docs put it plainly: it finds the opening that gets visitors to book “by writing new ones, showing them to part of your traffic, and keeping whichever gets the most visitors to the booking step. The winner becomes what those pages show, and the next test starts from it.” Of the 31 website chat and AI SDR tools we have checked, Darwin is the only one whose documentation describes testing its own chat openings on live traffic, keeping whichever brings more visitors to the booking step, and starting the next test from that winner, with no one setting the tests up. Tidio's flows, by contrast, are written and edited by your team in its visual editor. Sources: [How Darwin improves your openings](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/help/experiments/how-darwin-improves-openings) (Darwin; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026); [Edit your initial message (first flow)](https://help.tidio.com/hc/en-us/articles/5472137896988-Edit-your-initial-message-first-flow) (Tidio; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 5 October 2026).

Darwin's pricing follows the same logic: you pay for meetings and qualified requests, not conversations. The Free plan costs $0/mo, includes 5 free credits once, then charges $30/credit. Paid plans start with Growth at $299/mo. Growth includes 10 credits a month; Agency includes 25, pooled across up to 200 client workspaces. Extra credits cost $25 each. Choosing more credits each month lowers the rate: on Growth, $20 at 35 credits, $16 at 60 and $12 at 110; on Agency, $10 at 275 and $8 at 525. A consultancy that books 12 meetings a month would pay $360 on Free once its five free credits are used, or $349 on Growth, which is the Growth fee plus two extra credits. A month with no meetings costs nothing on Free, however many chats it had. Sources: [Darwin pricing: plans, credits and add-ons](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/pricing) (Darwin; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 20 October 2026).

Darwin is the wrong tool when the chat is mainly customer support. It has no shared inbox, ticketing or order lookups, so a store answering delivery and returns questions should stay with Tidio or another help desk. It does not send outbound email sequences, so a team that wants an AI SDR prospecting by email needs an outbound tool. Darwin does not identify the people or companies visiting your website; it talks with the visitors who open the chat. A team that wants to know which companies browse its site without chatting needs a visitor-identification tool. Sources: [Understand your conversion reporting](https://www.meetdarwin.ai/help/daily-work/analytics) (Darwin; first accessed 11 September 2026, last confirmed 6 October 2026).

## Questions

**How much does Tidio cost per month?**

Tidio's Free plan costs nothing. Starter is $29/mo and Growth starts at $59/mo on monthly billing, rising with the number of conversations your team answers. Plus starts at $300/mo plus usage, and Premium is quoted. Lyro, the AI agent, and Flows are extra on every plan, so most small stores pay more than the plan price once they add them.

**Is Tidio free?**

Yes, with limits. Tidio's Free plan covers 50 billable conversations a month, 10 seats and Flows for 100 visitors a month. Every Tidio project gets 50 Lyro conversations free, once; that quota does not renew. The Tidio badge stays on the widget, and when you reach the conversation limit you cannot answer new chats until the month resets. Tidio also offers a free trial of its paid features. A 7-day free trial covers paid features without a card. The trial is separate from the Free plan, which stays free within its monthly limits.

**How much does Tidio's Lyro AI cost?**

Tidio AI pricing is Lyro pricing: Flows are rule-based and sold on their own quota. Tidio sells Lyro quotas at $39 a month for 50 conversations, $75 for 100, $110 for 150, $140 for 200, $210 for 300, $350 for 500, $525 for 750 and $700 for 1,000, on monthly billing. Lyro is billed on top of your plan, and it can be added to the Free plan. Tidio counts a Lyro conversation each time Lyro replies in a new thread, and a thread closes after 15 minutes without a message.

**What is a billable conversation in Tidio?**

Tidio counts a billable conversation only when a person on your team replies to it or starts it; replies from Lyro or Flows do not count. Conversations that only Lyro or a flow answered count against those quotas instead.

**Does Tidio charge per seat?**

Not on its standard plans. Tidio's Free, Starter and Growth plans each include 10 seats; Plus sets a custom number with no per-seat charge. Needing more people than that answering chat is the usual reason a team moves to Plus.

**Is Tidio cheaper if you pay annually?**

Tidio's annual billing gives two months free, about 17% less than paying month to month. The pricing page shows annual prices by default, so check which rate you are comparing. Annual plans are also excluded from Tidio's automatic upgrades, which means you hit a limit rather than paying for the next tier.

**Why is my Tidio bill higher than the Tidio pricing page?**

Usually for one of three reasons. The pricing page opens on annual prices, so a monthly bill is higher than the first figure you saw. Lyro and Flows are billed on top of the plan. And on monthly plans, quotas can move up on their own. Tidio moves a monthly subscription up to the next quota automatically once 95% of its conversations, Lyro or Flows quota is used, unless you switch that off. The Usage and plan panel in Tidio shows which quota changed.

**Is there a website chat that books meetings and improves on its own?**

Darwin does both. It books the meeting inside the chat through Calendly, Google Calendar or RevenueHero, and with automatic testing on it tries new opening lines on each page and keeps the ones that bring more visitors to the booking step. Of the 31 website chat and AI SDR tools we have checked, it is the only one whose documentation describes that loop. It is not a help desk, so a support-heavy site is better served by Tidio or a similar tool.
