# 7 best AI chatbots for Framer sites in 2026, and how each installs

Framer's AI builds pages; it does not talk to visitors. Here are seven AI chatbots that install on a Framer site through custom code, an Embed block or Framer's own Intercom component, with what each learns from, what it books, and what it costs.

## What to take away

- Framer's AI is a design and copy tool. There is no Framer AI chatbot for visitors; every chatbot on a Framer site is a third-party script, and Framer's custom code settings make adding one a five-minute job.
- Framer has four custom code slots and per-page targeting, so you can load a chatbot site-wide or only on the pages that matter, without touching the design.
- Six of the seven have a free plan or trial. Only one, Darwin, keeps improving its opening lines with nobody running tests, and it is free until it books a meeting.
- Framer sites are usually marketing sites. Pick a chatbot that ends conversations with a booked call, not a support ticket.

Search for a Framer AI chatbot and you will find two very different things: Framer's own AI, which writes copy and generates layouts inside the editor, and a long tail of chat widgets people bolt onto Framer sites. The first cannot talk to your visitors. This guide is about the second kind, and specifically about the ones worth putting on a marketing site. A disclosure before the list. We make Darwin , AI website chat that answers from your pages and books meetings, and Framer is one of the platforms we see most, so we have a view here. We have still written the list we would hand a friend who just published a Framer site, and it includes tools we would pick over Darwin for a support desk or a small shop. Every price and plan detail comes from the vendor's own published pages and carries the date we last checked it. If you only read one paragraph: a marketing site that should book demos should start with Darwin, which is free until it books. A support-led company can use Framer's built-in Intercom component and skip code entirely. A small business that wants a free bot that reads its pages: Jotform or Elfsight. Already on HubSpot: paste the tracking code you already have.

**Framer AI chatbots at a glance**
The first column is how each tool gets onto a Framer site. Learns from your site means the assistant reads your pages itself rather than waiting for you to paste answers. Hover a cell for the full finding and its check date.

## How custom code works in Framer

Framer is unusually good at this. Open Project Settings, choose Custom Code, and you get four slots: the start and end of the head, and the start and end of the body. A chat widget belongs at the end of the body, so it loads after your content. You can also choose whether the code runs on every page or on specific pages only, which is how you keep a demo-booking chat off your careers page. For a panel that sits inside a page rather than in the corner, Framer's Embed block does the job: add it from Utility, set the type to HTML, and paste the vendor's code. And for a handful of tools, Framer goes further and ships a native component. Intercom is one; you drag it onto the canvas and paste a workspace ID into the properties panel. Custom code, end of body: site-wide or per page, five minutes, survives redesigns. The default for a floating chat. Embed block: an inline conversation panel on one page. Native component: no code at all, but only Intercom has one among the tools here. Publish after any of them. Custom code does not run in the editor preview.

## Darwin

Best suited to marketing and B2B sites on Framer that exist to turn visitors into booked calls. Less suited to stores that need order lookups, or teams that need a support inbox.

Install on Framer: Custom code, no app; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: 5 free bookings; native booking: Via integration (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Paste your workspace snippet into Framer's site-wide custom code and publish; there is no separate Darwin marketplace app. There is no Darwin component to drag in and nothing to maintain in the editor; the snippet at the end of the body is the whole integration, and you can limit it to the pages that should have chat. Darwin reads your Framer site on its own: Discovers relevant website pages and prepares the knowledge base. A visitor asks a question, gets an answer from your pages, and if they sound interested, picks a time on your calendar through Calendly, RevenueHero or HubSpot Meetings without leaving the chat. Then it does the thing none of the other six do. It gets better on its own, trying different opening lines on each page, keeping the ones that lead to more meetings, and dropping the rest. Origin costs $0/mo and includes 5 free bookings; after that it is $20/booking, or a plan from $99/mo with bookings included. The step-by-step is on the Darwin Framer integration page , and the plans are on the pricing page .

Strengths: One snippet in Framer custom code, per page or site-wide; Learns your business from your pages in under an hour; Books the meeting inside the chat, on the scheduler you already run; The only tool here that improves its own openings without intervention.

Limitations: Website only: no e-commerce data, no support inbox; Cannot see content that is not published; Younger product with a shorter track record.

If the Framer site is a marketing site, this is the chatbot that pays for itself. Free until it books.

## Intercom

Best suited to support-led companies on Framer that want the Messenger without touching code. Less suited to sales teams that do not need a helpdesk and would rather not pay per seat and per answer.

Install on Framer: Native Framer component; starting price: $39/seat/mo; free plan or trial: 14 day trial; native booking: Via integration (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Intercom is the one tool here with a native Framer component. Framer ships an Intercom component: find Intercom in the Integrations section, drag it onto the canvas and paste your workspace ID into the ID field. Preview or publish and the Messenger is live. From there you get the whole product: Fin answering from your content, and Fin for Sales on top for qualification and, through Calendly or HubSpot, booking. The price is the reason it is not the default for a marketing site. Seats start at $39/seat/mo, and on top of that Fin pricing starts at $0.99 per outcome. You get a 14 day trial, and once it ends there is no free plan to fall back to. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Intercom .

Strengths: Native Framer component, no code; Best-in-class support inbox and help center; Messenger imports your logo and colors from your domain.

Limitations: Seats plus per-outcome fees, so the bill grows when the AI succeeds; Sales chat is an add-on to a support product; No free plan after the trial.

The easiest install on Framer, for a company whose main problem is support.

## Chatbase

Best suited to teams that want one AI agent across chat, email and voice, with a floating widget on their Framer site. Less suited to anyone who wants the agent to improve its own openings.

Install on Framer: Custom code (head); starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free plan; native booking: Calendly or Cal.com in chat (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Chatbase documents Framer specifically. Deploy as a Website widget, copy the script, and paste it into Framer's Start of head custom code box; a floating agent icon appears on the published site. Training and booking are covered too: Add files, websites, text, Q&A, Notion pages and support tickets to train the agent; link sources can be individual URLs or a sitemap crawl. Calendly and Cal.com actions let customers check availability and book meetings without leaving the chat. The Free plan is $0 with 50 message credits a month and one member. Hobby is $40 per month with 700 message credits; Standard $150 with 4,000; Pro $500 with 15,000. Details are in Chatbase's Framer guide .

Strengths: Framer guide with a floating widget; Calendly and Cal.com booking inside the chat; Websites, files and Notion as training sources.

Limitations: Message credits run out fast on the free plan; Free agents are deleted after 14 days of inactivity; More product than a site that only wants chat needs.

Good if the Framer site is one of several places the same agent lives.

## Elfsight AI Chatbot

Best suited to sites that want a cheap assistant trained on their URLs, as a floating bubble or an inline panel. Less suited to anyone who needs booking or more than a few hundred messages a month on a small budget.

Install on Framer: Embed block or custom code; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free plan; native booking: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Elfsight's help center has a Framer article covering both routes. Static: add an Embed block from Utility, set Type to HTML and paste the code. Floating: put the script at the End of the head tag and the div at the Start of the body tag. It trains on your URLs, files and Q&A. The Free plan is $0 forever with 1 chatbot, 50 messages and 200 views a month. Basic is $5 per month with 3 chatbots and 300 messages; Pro $10 with 1,000 messages; Premium $20 with 3,000. Plans scale by messages and views rather than seats. The guide is in Elfsight's help center .

Strengths: Embed block or custom code, both documented for Framer; Trains on your URLs; Free plan and very low paid tiers.

Limitations: Tight message caps on the low tiers; No meeting booking; A widget, not a sales tool.

The cheapest decent widget for a Framer site that just wants questions answered.

## Jotform AI Chatbot

Best suited to small businesses that want a free bot that crawls the site and can take reservations. Less suited to high-traffic sites on the free tier, or teams that want the chat to improve by itself.

Install on Framer: Generic embed code; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free plan; native booking: Google Calendar reservations (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Jotform does not list Framer among its named platforms, but its generic embed works anywhere custom code does: Framer is not among Jotform's named platforms; use the generic Embed on Your Site code from the Chatbot publish menu in Framer's custom code. Once it is in, the agent crawls your site and updates its answers as you edit, and it can take reservations against your Google Calendar availability. The limit is volume, because the bot runs on Jotform's plans rather than its own. The Starter plan is free with 100 monthly conversations and 5 active AI agents. A busy Framer site will hit that cap in the first week, and the next step up is $39/mo with more room. The embed steps are in Jotform's help center .

Strengths: Free Starter plan; Crawls your site and updates as you edit; Reservations through Google Calendar.

Limitations: No Framer-specific guide; generic embed only; Conversation caps on every plan; No self-optimization of the chat.

The best free starting point for a small business on Framer, once you have pasted the code.

## Tidio

Best suited to small businesses and stores that want live chat plus an AI agent on a Framer site. Less suited to B2B sites that need the meeting booked inside the chat, not a link.

Install on Framer: Generic snippet; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: 7 day trial; native booking: Via integration (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Tidio has no Framer page either, but the generic install is the same one every site uses: Paste the Tidio JavaScript code above the closing body tag of your website; in Framer that is the End of body custom code slot. In Framer that means the end-of-body custom code slot. The Free plan has no monthly fee. Paid plans start at $29/mo, and the Lyro AI agent is sold on top: Lyro AI Agent quota starts at $39 per month for 50 conversations on monthly billing. Lyro learns from website URLs you paste in. For meetings, Lyro can share a Calendly scheduling link through a Book-a-call Action. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Tidio .

Strengths: One snippet into Framer custom code; Free plan, plus a 7 day trial of paid features; Lyro trains on URLs you provide.

Limitations: Booking is a shared link, not in-chat; Priced by conversation volume; Built for support and stores, not B2B pipeline.

The safe pick for a small store on Framer. Not a pipeline tool.

## HubSpot

Best suited to companies already on HubSpot CRM that want chat on their Framer site without another vendor. Less suited to teams on another CRM, or anyone who wants the opening line to improve without hand-editing flows.

Install on Framer: Tracking code, end of body; starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free tools; native booking: Yes (facts checked 16 September 2026).

HubSpot's chat rides on its tracking code. Paste the HubSpot tracking code before the closing body tag on each page; live chat widgets depend on it. In Framer that is the End of body custom code slot. On Framer that is the end-of-body slot in Project Settings. Free tools include live chat and a limited chatbot with HubSpot branding. The Breeze customer agent answers from your website pages and is metered in credits: The customer agent uses 50 HubSpot Credits per resolved conversation. Booking works the HubSpot way: Chatbots share a HubSpot meetings link; the customer agent can route qualified leads to a meeting link. Side-by-side: Darwin vs HubSpot .

Strengths: Free live chat and bots, native to the CRM; One tracking code covers chat, forms and analytics; Customer agent learns from public website URLs.

Limitations: AI agent costs credits on top of seats; Bots are flow builders; you write every opening; Sales chat is a feature, not the product.

If you are on HubSpot, paste the tracking code and try the free chat first.

## How to add a chatbot to a Framer site

The custom-code route works for every tool on this list except Intercom, which has its own component, and it takes about five minutes. Create your account with the vendor and, for Darwin and Jotform, give it your Framer site's URL so it can read your pages. Copy the snippet the vendor gives you. In Framer, open Project Settings, then Custom Code, and paste the snippet into the End of body slot. Choose every page, or only the pages that should have chat. Publish. Custom code does not run in the editor preview, so check the published site. Open the live site in a private window, ask the bot three real questions from your pricing page, and if it books meetings, book one yourself. For an inline panel, add an Embed block from Utility, set the type to HTML, paste the vendor's embed code and publish. For Intercom, drag the component from Integrations onto the canvas and paste your workspace ID. The Darwin Framer guide walks through the custom-code route with screenshots.

## Does Framer have an AI chatbot?

Not the kind that talks to visitors. Framer's AI generates copy, translates pages and suggests layouts while you are building. It does not sit on the published site and answer questions. The Framer marketplace has a few chatbot components and plugins built by the community, most of which are front-end interfaces that need your own AI API key, and none of which book meetings or learn from your site the way the tools above do. If you want a chatbot that actually does a job on a Framer site, it will be one of these third-party tools, added through custom code.

> **Read “Not documented” carefully** Where a table cell says Not documented, the vendor's public pages did not confirm the capability when we checked. That is not the same as no. Ask on the demo, and ask for it in writing.

## How to choose

Seven tools, three install routes. The same list by the site you actually run. Your Framer site exists to book demos or calls: Darwin, with one snippet and nothing to pay until it books. Support is the bigger job and you want no code at all: Intercom, through Framer's own component. You want one agent across chat, email and voice with a floating widget on Framer: Chatbase. You want the cheapest bubble that answers from your URLs: Elfsight. You want a free bot that crawls the site and takes reservations: Jotform. You run a small store on Framer: Tidio. You already pay for HubSpot: paste the tracking code you already have before buying anything.

## Questions

**Does Framer have a built-in AI chatbot?**

Not one that talks to visitors. Framer's AI is there while you build: it drafts copy and suggests layouts, then gets out of the way. Once the site is published, nothing in Framer answers a question from a reader. Any chatbot you have seen on a Framer site came from a third party, pasted into custom code, dropped into an Embed block, or, in Intercom's case, added through the component Framer ships for it.

**How do I add a chatbot to Framer?**

Grab the snippet from your chatbot vendor, then in Framer open Project Settings and go to Custom Code. Paste it into the End of body slot, decide whether it should run on every page or just a few, and publish. The widget shows up on the live site, though not in the editor preview. If you want a chat panel sitting inside a page rather than floating in the corner, use an Embed block set to HTML instead. Either way you are done in about five minutes.

**What is the best AI chatbot for a Framer website?**

For a marketing site that should turn visitors into booked calls, Darwin, which also improves its own opening lines and installs with one snippet. For a support-led company, Intercom through Framer's component. For a small business that wants a free bot trained on its pages, Jotform or Elfsight.

**Is there a free chatbot for Framer?**

Yes. Jotform, Elfsight, Chatbase and Tidio have free plans with caps on conversations or messages, and HubSpot's chat is free with the CRM. Darwin is free with 5 free bookings and unlimited chats, and only charges once it books a meeting.

**Can I show the chatbot on some Framer pages only?**

Yes. Framer's custom code settings let you choose whether a snippet runs on every page or on specific pages, so you can keep a demo-booking chat on your product and pricing pages and off your careers page.
