# 12 best AI SDR tools in 2026, split by inbound and outbound

The label AI SDR covers two jobs that have little in common, so we compared twelve tools in two groups: agents that talk to the visitors already on your website and book the meeting, and agents that find strangers and email them. What each costs, what it books, and what to ask on the demo.

This is the Markdown version of https://www.meetdarwin.ai/blog/ai-sdr-tools, published by Darwin and generated on 19 September 2026.

## What to take away

- “AI SDR” covers two different jobs. Outbound agents find strangers and email them. Inbound agents talk to the people already on your website and book the meeting. Most lists only cover the first.
- Inbound is where the cheap wins are: the visitor has already found you, so the agent's job is to answer well and offer a time. Darwin, Qualified, Warmly, Breakout and Docket do that; HubSpot can, if you already own it.
- Only one tool on the list improves its own opening lines without anyone running tests. That is Darwin, and the table shows it against eleven “Not documented” cells.
- Pricing models differ more than prices. Per seat, per contact, per credit, per meeting: pick the one that charges for the outcome you actually want.

Two things get called an AI SDR, and they have almost nothing in common apart from the name. The first finds people who have never heard of you, writes them emails and LinkedIn messages, and hands your team the replies. The second waits on your website for people who already found you, answers their questions, and books the meeting before they leave. Most “best AI SDR tools” lists only cover the first kind. This one covers both, in separate groups, because you almost certainly need one more than the other. A disclosure first. We make Darwin , an inbound AI SDR that lives in your website chat, so we have a stake in the first group. We have still written the list the way we would explain it to a friend running a sales team, and the outbound half includes tools we happily recommend for jobs Darwin does not do. Every price and plan detail comes from the vendor's own published pages and carries the date we last checked it. If you only read one paragraph: for inbound, start free with Darwin, or go to Qualified if you are an enterprise on Salesforce. For outbound, Apollo if you want data and sequences with a free plan, Regie if you want an agent for the price of a lunch, AiSDR or Artisan if you want an agent that runs the whole outreach loop, 11x or Amplemarket if you are buying for a large team.

## Inbound and outbound AI SDRs are two different jobs

An outbound AI SDR replaces the top of the cold-outreach funnel. It pulls lists from a contact database, researches each person, writes a message, sends it across email and LinkedIn, handles the first reply, and passes anything warm to a human. Its numbers are open rates, reply rates and meetings booked per thousand contacts. Its costs are per contact, per mailbox or per seat. An inbound AI SDR replaces the form and the twelve-hour wait. Someone is on your pricing page right now with a question. The agent answers it from your content, asks one qualifying question, and offers a time on a rep's calendar. Its numbers are conversations per hundred visits and meetings per page. Its costs are per seat, per conversation, or in Darwin's case per booked meeting. The reason the split matters: an outbound agent is only as good as the list and the offer, and it competes with every other AI writing cold email this year. An inbound agent works on people who already chose to visit you. The intent is higher, the cost per meeting is lower, and the tooling is cheaper. If you have website traffic and no one talking to it, that is the gap to fill first. Outbound: finds strangers, writes and sends, handles replies. Measured in replies and meetings per contact. Inbound: answers visitors, qualifies, books. Measured in meetings per page. Both: qualify, book, hand off to a human, write to your CRM.

## Best inbound AI SDR tools: from website visitor to meeting

Six tools that talk to the people already on your site. Darwin first because it is ours and because it is the only one that gets better without you touching it; the rest in order of how closely they fit a mid-sized B2B team.

## Darwin

Best suited to B2B teams with website traffic who want an inbound AI SDR that books meetings from day one and improves on its own. Less suited to outbound prospecting, support ticketing, or company-level visitor identification.

Starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: 5 free bookings; native booking: Via integration; improves on its own: Yes (facts checked 11 September 2026).

Darwin is the inbound agent in its simplest form. You paste your URL, it reads the site, drafts the assistant and writes a first opening line. From then on, when a visitor asks something, they get an answer drawn from your own content, and if they sound interested they pick a time on a rep's calendar right there in the chat, through Calendly, RevenueHero or HubSpot Meetings. What sets it apart from the other eleven tools here is what happens next. Darwin keeps getting better without anyone touching it. It tries different opening lines on each page, keeps the ones that lead to more meetings, drops the rest, and runs the next test. Nobody on your team schedules an experiment or reads a report. A few weeks in, you simply notice that more visitors are booking. Pricing is per outcome. Base plan fee, plus bookings beyond the allowance. Origin costs $0/mo and includes 5 free bookings; after that it is $20/booking, or a plan from $99/mo with bookings included. Chats are unlimited on every plan. See the whole flow in how Darwin works , or run your own numbers on the pricing page .

Strengths: The only tool here that improves its own openings without intervention; Books the meeting inside the chat, on the scheduler you already run; Learns your business from your website in under an hour; Charges per booked meeting, not per seat, contact or credit.

Limitations: Website only: no outbound email or LinkedIn; No visitor de-anonymization; Younger product with a shorter track record.

The inbound AI SDR to start with, because it costs nothing until it books and keeps improving after you stop touching it.

## Qualified

Best suited to enterprise revenue teams on Salesforce that want an AI SDR with a services team behind it. Less suited to small teams, non-Salesforce shops, or anyone who wants a price before a sales call.

Starting price: Not documented; free plan or trial: Not documented; native booking: Yes; improves on its own: Feedback-based (facts checked 11 September 2026).

If you have sat through an enterprise sales-tech demo in the last two years, you have probably met Piper, Qualified's AI SDR. Piper works from Salesforce data and the marketing stack, so it recognises accounts as they arrive, greets them by company, and can wave a human rep into the conversation while a valuable visitor is still on the page. Once that visitor wants to talk, Piper looks up which rep should take the call and books the slot inside the chat. You feed it Uploaded messaging, product details, knowledge bases and FAQs. Pricing is not on the site; Premier, Enterprise and Ultimate each end in a Schedule a demo button, and the quote arrives after the call. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Qualified .

Strengths: Deep Salesforce integration and account-level personalization; Piper books meetings and follows up by email, on video, voice and text; Mature enterprise implementation and support.

Limitations: No published pricing and no trial; Built for Salesforce shops; Implementation is a project.

The enterprise inbound pick. If you have RevOps and a Salesforce budget, start here.

## Warmly

Best suited to B2B teams that want to know which companies are on the site, then have an agent chat with them. Less suited to teams whose main problem is the conversation itself, or budgets under five figures a year.

Starting price: $10,000/yr; free plan or trial: Not documented; native booking: Yes; improves on its own: Feedback loops (facts checked 11 September 2026).

Warmly starts from identification. It tells you which companies are browsing, then its AI inbound agent picks up the conversation, qualifies, and books: Direct calendar booking in chat through Google Calendar, Outlook or Chili Piper links. The Autopilot tier goes further and reaches out to identified accounts on its own. You buy it on a contract. AI Web-Deanonymization starts at $10,000 per year; Inbound Chat at $20,000 per year. The agent learns from documents, FAQs and example conversations you hand it. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Warmly .

Strengths: Company-level visitor identification built in; Books onto Google, Outlook or Chili Piper calendars from the chat; Autopilot adds outreach to identified accounts, a small outbound motion.

Limitations: Five-figure annual contracts, no free plan; Website crawling for knowledge is not specified; Revenue intelligence first, chat second.

Choose Warmly when knowing the account matters as much as talking to it.

## Breakout

Best suited to B2B revenue teams that want one inbound AI SDR covering forms and chat together. Less suited to teams that want to start free, or that only need chat.

Starting price: $500/mo; free plan or trial: 30 day trial; native booking: Yes; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 11 September 2026).

Breakout calls itself an inbound AI SDR, and the description fits. It handles the website conversation and the form fill in the same product, and booking is built in: Books meetings in chat and from Smart Forms with pre-filled one-click calendar booking. Pricing is on the site, which puts it ahead of most of this list. Signals starts at $500/mo; Growth, the tier that includes the AI SDR, starts at $2,000/mo. You can try it for 30 day trial without a card. For knowledge, you point the agent at your knowledge base and give it instructions; the docs do not say whether it crawls your site. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Breakout .

Strengths: One-click calendar booking from chat and smart forms; Free 30-day trial without a card; Published monthly pricing.

Limitations: Growth, the tier with the AI SDR, starts at four figures a month; Website crawling for knowledge is not specified; Usage charges beyond the plan fee are not published.

A credible mid-market inbound pick if you want forms and chat in one tool.

## Docket

Best suited to mid-market and enterprise B2B teams with heavy traffic and a deep sales content library. Less suited to smaller sites, self-serve buyers, or anyone who wants to try before signing an annual contract.

Starting price: $3,000/mo; free plan or trial: No; native booking: Yes; improves on its own: Active learning (facts checked 11 September 2026).

Docket is an inbound demand platform: Inbound demand platform whose AI agent talks to every website visitor, for B2B. Its agent answers from a Sales Knowledge Lake that pulls together CRM records, call recordings, documents and wikis, so the answers sound like your best rep rather than your website. Meeting booking with calendar integration is included on every plan. Annual plans by monthly visitor volume with unlimited conversations. Growth starts at $3,000/mo, and Docket states a free trial is not available. Side-by-side: Darwin vs Docket .

Strengths: Unlimited conversations on every plan; Knowledge from calls, CRM and documents, not only web pages; Docket's team handles implementation.

Limitations: Annual contracts from $3,000/mo, no trial; Not self-serve; Website crawling for knowledge is not specified.

Strong for teams with lots of traffic and lots of sales content. Overkill below that.

## HubSpot

Best suited to companies already on HubSpot CRM who want an inbound agent without another vendor. Less suited to teams on another CRM, or anyone who wants the opening line to improve without hand-editing flows.

Starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free tools; native booking: Yes; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 11 September 2026).

HubSpot is not an AI SDR company, but if your CRM is HubSpot you already own most of the inbound pieces. Free tools include live chat and a limited chatbot with HubSpot branding. Paid hubs start at $20/seat/mo. The Breeze customer agent answers from your website pages and knowledge base and can qualify leads; it is metered in credits: The customer agent uses 50 HubSpot Credits per resolved conversation. Booking works the HubSpot way. Chatbots share a HubSpot meetings link; the customer agent can route qualified leads to a meeting link. Side-by-side: Darwin vs HubSpot .

Strengths: Free live chat and bots, native to the CRM; Meetings links and routing already in the platform; Customer agent learns from public website URLs.

Limitations: AI agent costs credits on top of seats; Bots are flow builders; you write every opening; Sales chat is a feature, not the product.

Switch on what you already pay for before buying anything. Add a dedicated agent when you need chat that books and improves by itself.

## Best outbound AI SDR tools: prospecting, email and replies

Six tools that find strangers and start conversations with them. We do not build outbound software, so these sections stick to what the vendors publish: channels, pricing and what the agent will and will not do. In rough order from cheapest self-serve to largest enterprise deal.

## Apollo

Best suited to teams that want contact data, sequences and a meeting scheduler in one place, with a free plan to start. Less suited to teams that want a hands-off agent to run the whole outbound loop for them.

Starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free plan; native booking: Scheduler for reps; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Apollo is the data platform most outbound teams already have a login for, and it has grown sequences, a dialer, a scheduler and AI assistance on top. The Free plan is $0 with 900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly. Basic is $49 per seat per month billed annually; Professional $79; Organization $119 with a minimum of 3 seats. Everything runs on credits: Per-seat plans with annual credit allowances; exports and enrichment consume credits; an Inbound add-on is $119 per team per month. Scheduling is a feature rather than an agent: A built-in scheduler routes meetings by CRM owner or round-robin; an AI agent booking meetings is not described. An Inbound add-on identifies website visitors by company, which edges it toward the inbound group, but nothing on the pricing page describes an agent that chats and books on its own. Pricing details are on Apollo's pricing page .

Strengths: Free plan and the largest contact database on this list; Sequences, dialer and scheduler in one product; Round-robin routing to reps.

Limitations: More platform than agent; you still run the campaigns; Credits are consumed by exports and enrichment, so heavy use adds up; No autonomous website agent.

The place to start outbound if you want to keep a human in the loop and a free plan in your pocket.

## Regie.ai

Best suited to small teams that want an outbound AI agent on a self-serve monthly plan. Less suited to inbound website chat, or anyone who needs the agent to book meetings for them.

Starting price: $0/mo; free plan or trial: Free plan; native booking: Not documented; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Regie.ai is the cheapest way on this list to put an AI agent on outbound. The Free plan is $0 with 250 one-time credits. Pro is $49 per month, self-serve with no contract. Self-serve monthly Pro plan with credits; Enterprise custom. The agents research accounts, draft messages, enrich contacts and dial. What the public pages do not describe is an inbound motion or the agent booking the meeting itself; the human takes it from the reply. Pricing details are on Regie's pricing page .

Strengths: Free credits to start, no card; Self-serve monthly plan, cancel any time; Research, drafting, enrichment and dialing in one agent.

Limitations: No inbound or website chat; Meeting booking by the agent is not documented; Enterprise pricing is custom.

Good first outbound agent for a small team; pair it with an inbound tool for the website.

## AiSDR

Best suited to teams that want one agent to run outbound and inbound follow-up across email, phone and LinkedIn. Less suited to teams that want a free tier, or a website chat agent.

Starting price: $250/mo; free plan or trial: No; native booking: From outreach replies; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

AiSDR is the most complete self-serve agent in the outbound group. A full AI sales assistant for inbound and outbound sales across email, phone and LinkedIn. It researches each prospect from LinkedIn activity and company news, writes and sends, handles objections, and AiSDR qualifies interest in real time and books a meeting once a prospect is ready to talk to sales. Pricing is published and scales by contacts. Solo is $250 per month with monthly billing for 200 monthly contacts. Explore is $900 per month for 800 monthly contacts; Scale is $2,500 per month for 2,500 contacts. No free trial is offered. Pricing details are on AiSDR's pricing page .

Strengths: Runs the full loop from research to booked meeting; Email, phone and LinkedIn in one agent; Follows up with inbound leads as well as cold ones.

Limitations: No free trial; Larger plans require quarterly contracts paid in advance; No website chat agent.

If you want an agent that owns outbound end to end and will pay monthly for it, start here.

## Artisan

Best suited to teams that want an outbound AI BDR with human-in-the-loop controls and a large contact database behind it. Less suited to teams that want a price before a demo, or an inbound website agent.

Starting price: Not documented; free plan or trial: Not documented; native booking: From email replies; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Artisan gives its AI BDR a name, Ava, and a lot of guardrails. Ava finds and enriches leads from a database of 250 million contacts, writes and sends the outreach, handles the replies, and when someone says yes, Ava converts positive replies into booked meetings automatically. You decide what she is allowed to say: approvals before sending, locks on tone and calls to action, rules for when to escalate to a person. What you cannot find out from the website is the price. Credit-based pricing with plan tiers scoped to lead volume, mailboxes and dialer seats. Plans are scoped to how many leads you want worked, how many mailboxes you send from and how many dialer seats you need, and the number arrives after a conversation. Details are on Artisan's pricing page .

Strengths: Large verified contact database built in; Booking from positive replies is automatic; Human-in-the-loop controls for tone and escalation.

Limitations: No published prices; Trial terms are not published; Outbound only.

A strong outbound agent for teams that want control over what goes out. Get the quote in writing.

## Amplemarket

Best suited to mid-sized outbound teams that want AI copywriting, voice and inbox drafting inside a full sequencing platform. Less suited to solo sellers, or anyone who wants a website agent.

Starting price: $600/mo; free plan or trial: Free trial; native booking: Not documented; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

Amplemarket wraps its Duo AI around a full outbound platform: multichannel sequences across email, phone and social, AI-written emails, AI voice messages and drafted replies in the inbox. Startup is $600 per month on an annual term with 2 users included. Annual-term plans with included users; Growth and Elite priced custom. All plans include a free trial. Whether Duo books the meeting itself is not spelled out on the pricing page; the platform is built for reps to run sequences with AI help. Pricing details are on Amplemarket's pricing page .

Strengths: Multichannel sequences with AI copy and voice; Free trial on every plan; Draft replies for every prospect email.

Limitations: Annual term on the entry plan; Growth and Elite pricing is custom; Meeting booking by the AI is not documented.

For a team of four or more that wants AI inside a serious sequencing tool.

## 11x

Best suited to large teams buying AI digital workers for outbound and inbound phone, with a demo-first process. Less suited to anyone who wants a self-serve start or a published price.

Starting price: Not documented; free plan or trial: Not documented; native booking: Email and phone; improves on its own: Not documented (facts checked 16 September 2026).

11x does not describe its products as software so much as staff. Alice is the outbound worker: Alice runs multichannel outbound sequences across email, phone, chat, social, SMS and WhatsApp; Julian answers inbound calls. Julian is her inbound counterpart, picking up calls, qualifying the caller and putting a meeting on the calendar. Booking sits in both job descriptions: Alice handles prospecting, nurturing and meeting booking; Julian schedules meetings from inbound calls. You will not find a price on the site, and there is no trial to sign up for. Every path ends at a twenty-minute demo, after which the quote arrives. That is a normal way to buy enterprise software; it is just not a way to try something on a Tuesday afternoon. Details are on 11x's site .

Strengths: Outbound across email, phone, social, SMS and WhatsApp; Inbound phone agent alongside the outbound one; Every message written per prospect.

Limitations: No published pricing or trial; Demo-first sales process; No website chat agent.

An enterprise conversation, not a self-serve tool. Worth the demo if you are staffing a team with agents.

## What to look for in an AI SDR tool

Six questions to ask on every demo. The first one decides which half of this list you are shopping in. Where do the leads come from? Your website, or a database. That is inbound versus outbound, and it sets everything else. How does it qualify? By conversation, by form, by enrichment data, or by a human reading replies. Does it book the meeting itself? On whose calendar, and does the visitor or prospect ever leave the conversation to do it. What does it learn from? Your website, your documents, your CRM, or a prospect database. Ask what happens when your pricing page changes. Does it get better on its own? Most tools give you analytics and leave the changes to you. Ask what improves without a human deciding to improve it. What is the unit of pricing? Seats charge for people. Contacts and credits charge for activity. Meetings charge for the outcome. Match the unit to the thing you want more of.

## AI SDR versus human SDR: what the AI should own

The honest version of this section is short. AI SDRs are excellent at the parts of the job that are repetitive and fast: answering the same question for the hundredth time at 2 a.m., following up within a minute, offering a time slot, writing the first draft. They are poor at the parts that need judgment about a specific company: knowing that this prospect is a bad fit despite ticking every box, or that a champion just changed jobs. So the pattern that works is not replacement but sequencing. Let the AI own the first conversation, the qualification question and the calendar. Let a human own the meeting and everything after it. On the website that split is natural, because the agent's job ends when the meeting is booked. In outbound it takes more care, because a badly aimed agent at scale does damage a human never could.

## Pricing models compared

Prices on this page run from free to custom, but the unit of pricing tells you more than the number. Per seat. Apollo ($49/seat/mo), HubSpot ($20/seat/mo) and Amplemarket ($600/mo) charge for people, with credits or usage on top. Predictable, and it rewards you for having fewer humans, which is not quite the goal. Per contact or per credit. AiSDR ($250/mo for a contact allowance) and Regie ($49/mo) charge for activity. Good when the list is the constraint. Per contract. Qualified, 11x, Artisan and Docket quote; Warmly starts at $10,000/yr. Enterprise budgets, enterprise commitments. Per booked meeting. Darwin: $0/mo to start with 5 free bookings, then $20/booking or a plan from $99/mo with bookings included. Chats are unlimited, so a busy month costs nothing unless it also books meetings. If you want to compare that against a per-seat model for your own traffic, the pricing page has a calculator.

> **Read “Not documented” carefully** Where a table cell says Not documented, the vendor's public pages did not confirm the capability when we checked. That is not the same as no. Ask on the demo, and ask for it in writing.

## How to choose

Twelve tools, two jobs. The same list by the situation you are in. You have website traffic and nobody talking to it: start inbound, and start with Darwin, which costs nothing until it books. Enterprise on Salesforce with RevOps: Qualified. You want to know which companies are visiting as much as you want to chat with them: Warmly. Forms and chat handled by one inbound agent: Breakout, or Docket at larger scale with deeper content. Already on HubSpot: switch on the chat and customer agent you own before buying anything. Outbound with a free plan and a human running campaigns: Apollo. Outbound agent for a small team on a monthly plan: Regie. An agent that owns outbound and inbound follow-up end to end: AiSDR, or Artisan if you want approvals on everything that goes out. A team of four or more that wants AI inside a full sequencing platform: Amplemarket. Staffing a large team with digital workers on a demo-first deal: 11x. Most B2B companies end up with one from each group. The inbound agent is the cheaper, faster win, because the people it talks to already came looking for you.

## Questions

**What is an AI SDR?**

Think of the first hour of a salesperson's day, the part before any real meeting happens: starting conversations, working out who is serious, answering the same handful of questions, and getting a time on the calendar. An AI SDR is software that does that hour. The outbound kind does it with strangers over email and LinkedIn. The inbound kind does it with people who are already on your website, inside the chat.

**What are the best AI SDR tools?**

It depends which half of the job you are hiring for. On the website, Darwin, Qualified, Warmly, Breakout and Docket all book meetings from the conversation, and HubSpot can if you already pay for the CRM. For cold outreach, Apollo, Regie, AiSDR, Artisan, Amplemarket and 11x cover the range from a free plan to an enterprise contract. The right one comes down to where your leads come from and what you want to be charged for.

**Can an AI SDR replace a human SDR?**

Part of one. The repetitive first mile, meaning instant replies, the qualifying question, offering a time, the first draft of an email, is exactly what the AI is good at, and it does it at two in the morning without complaint. What it should not own is the judgment about which accounts matter, or the meeting itself. The teams getting results let the agent handle the first conversation and hand a person the calendar.

**What features should I look for in AI SDR tools?**

Ask six things on the demo. Where do the leads come from? How does it decide who is worth a meeting? Does it book the meeting itself, or hand you a reply? What does it learn from, and what happens when your pricing page changes? Does anything improve without a person deciding to improve it? And what is the unit on the invoice: seats, contacts, credits or meetings? The last two separate the tools more than any feature list.

**Which AI SDR is best for inbound pipeline?**

If you want website chat that books meetings and keeps improving its own opening lines, and you would rather start free, Darwin. Enterprises on Salesforce usually land on Qualified. Warmly makes sense when knowing which companies are visiting matters as much as the conversation. Breakout and Docket fit teams that want forms and chat running through a single agent.

**How much do AI SDR tools cost?**

Anywhere from nothing to a number nobody will say out loud before a demo. Apollo, Regie and Darwin all have free plans. Regie's paid plan is $49/mo, AiSDR starts at $250/mo, Amplemarket at $600/mo, and Warmly at $10,000/yr. Qualified, Artisan, 11x and Docket quote. Darwin charges $20/booking on the free plan once the introductory bookings are used, or a monthly plan with bookings included.
